About Counselling
Counselling can help us learn more about ourselves, so we can use our own strengths and wisdom to clear unhealthy beliefs and restore natural rhythms to our lives.
With the skillful application of techniques proven to integrate mind, body and spirit, I will guide and support you to open to your essential being and improve your valued relationships.
I work to help clients effectively release and change negative core beliefs and undesirable patterns and resolve old issues that keep them from moving forward. I also specialize in Somatic Experiencing, a therapy that is proving to be very effective for resolving trauma because it addresses the psychological and physiological dimensions of an issue simultaneously.
Counselling is a very individual experience. Just as every person has unique qualities and life experience, every counsellor has unique qualities, life experience, and training that they bring to their therapeutic work. It is important to find a counsellor that works in a way that is effective for you. With this in mind, I offer a no-cost 30-minute consultation for us to meet. This is not enough time to learn all that we need to know about each other or precisely how we will work together; however, I believe it will help you get a sense of who I am and what I have to offer. I will want to know a little about you and what you would like to work on, and you will have an opportunity to ask about how I work and how the therapeutic process may help you reach your goals.
Sometimes it is easy to identify issues to address, and other times there may be just a vague sense that life should be more fulfilling. Often, specific symptoms – such as those related to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, or trauma – may be the focus of therapy. Whatever you present, we will work together to understand your experience holistically and use therapeutic processes that will allow you to make changes that reflect in all of your being.
I am devoted to helping my clients achieve their desire for personal empowerment and fulfillment, to “Thrive Rather Than Just Survive.”
